Many people these days are looking for ways to relieve stress, whether that is because of a job or relationship issue, there are many ways to deal with the problem. It can be a very stressful world and everyone needs to find a way to relax every now and then. Stress is an awful thing to put yourself through and if you have a job where you go home after a long day and then have to sit down and do nothing, it can really test your patience. There are many different ways to relieve stress and here are a few that I would like to recommend. All of them have worked for me in the past.

Exercise is probably one of the best things that you can do to fight stress. It may sound counterintuitive, but actually placing physical pressure on your body during exercise can actually relieve stress. The best benefits are usually stronger when you exercise regularly, say once a week. If you just find time to go for a short walk a few times a week then I would highly recommend it but don't take it too far and do something longer like yoga. Yoga is excellent at helping you focus your attention and get into a positive state of mind.

Meditation is another great method for reducing anxiety and stress. It is really good for blood pressure as well, although I am not entirely sure how much of that is related to reducing stress, overall, I find it very relaxing. Meditation involves sitting comfortably and repeating certain words or phrases. It has been shown to help improve symptoms of anxiety and depression and has been used for years to help alleviate anxiety and stress. Meditation is also good for improving clarity of thought. Like exercise, meditation can be done daily or once or twice a week.

A few years ago I started practicing yoga and fell in love with it. At the time I had started some serious stress reduction work, and I was really struggling with depression, which is sometimes handled by antidepressants. I felt that yoga was perfect for helping my mental health and physical health. The first few weeks of practicing yoga were difficult, as I was sore and a bit out of breath but I soon got into the groove of doing yoga properly. The next few weeks I saw a huge improvement in my mental health and my ability to manage stress and anxiety.

So if you are suffering from anxiety and stress, what would you like to try? I would say just make exercise a part of your daily routine, it really does benefit everyone. If you feel like doing something different, try something you've never tried before, or even go for a hike or swim! There are many ways to relieve stress and anxiety and using exercise regularly is a great way to make progress towards a more relaxed and stress free life. Don't spend all day trying to think of one way to deal with a particular problem, there are many ways to do it. Get a notebook and write down all the stresses that you identify, write down the reasons why they are bothering you and take action to avoid them. Most things will cause stress at one point or another so don't beat yourself up over things. Just take action and avoid those types of stressor.
